Cook (Corrections)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with serving meals for inmates and staff using commercial culinary equipment
• Supervise inmate workers assisting with food preparation and kitchen duties
• Help order, receive, check, and store food supplies
• Maintain kitchen security and oversee basic cleaning and sanitation tasks
• Train inmate workers on food service procedures and equipment operation

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience as a cook in large-scale food preparation
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

• ServSafe certification or other recognized food safety certification
