About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare well-balanced meals for children (birth to five years old) following CACFP Meal Pattern Guidelines
- Maintain safe and sanitary food service practices in accordance with state and local requirements and ServSafe Manager standards
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, including refrigerators, freezers, stoves, and ovens
- Manage quantity food purchasing and adapt quantity recipes using mathematical skills
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency credential
- ServSafe Manager certification (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
- One year of experience in quantity food preparation and state sanitary regulations
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and relate comfortably to income-eligible families
