About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall cooking operations of the dining unit
- Guide and instruct cooks, helpers, grill attendants, and Dining Service Workers in food preparation
- Prepare a variety of food items following standardized procedures and schedules
- Follow standardized recipes and production worksheets accurately
Requirements
- High school or vocational school education (or equivalent)
- One year of varied cooking experience
- Experience in a large volume institutional or restaurant setting
- Ability to obtain/pass the Food Handler’s Certification
- Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and production worksheets
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous line cooking experience
