About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of food items following established recipes and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including kitchen equipment and storage areas
- Follow daily preparation lists to ensure readiness for service
- Operate and maintain various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and slicers
- Manage cooking times and portion sizes to meet quality and customer expectations
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations
- Assist with food delivery storage and report equipment or product issues
Requirements
- One to two years of experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques including baking, grilling, and sautéing
- Understanding of food handling, safety, and restaurant guidelines
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong time management and ability to work under stressful circumstances
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary school graduate
- ServSafe or similar food safety certification
- Fluency in Spanish
