Cook

Responsibilities

• Prepare 400 to 600 meals daily for cafeteria-style settings and functions
• Follow directions from the Head Chef and Sous Chef for daily dining facility operations
• Perform roles as Larder, stove, and grill cook to produce high-quality cuisine for USA and Australian palates
• Employ batch methods of food preparation to ensure a continuous supply of fresh food
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining facility in compliance with Australian Food and Health requirements
• Manage stock control using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method to ensure efficient resource use
• Promote and maintain health and safety practices within the workplace

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry at the Cook level
• Graduate of a Certified Cook trade school in a hospitality-related discipline
• Supervision Certificate in Australian Food Health and Sanitation Standards
• Proficiency with Micros Fidelio and Opera Hotel Management Systems
• Experience with SAP and cash handling
• Valid Driver's Licence and Hygiene (Food Handling) certificate
• Ability to lift items up to 10kg independently
• Must be able to obtain and retain Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) or TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Management Certificate or Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management)
• Management Certificate or Certificate IV in Catering or Hospitality
• Management Certificate or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Undergraduate Degree
