About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the First Cook with meal production and preparation
- Prepare hot side dishes and menu accompaniments
- Ensure all food preparation is completed, documented, and meets quality standards
- Record dinner temperatures in appropriate logs
- Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen and serving areas
- Follow proper food storage and stock rotation practices
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and report incidents immediately
Requirements
- Diploma in Hospitality, Food Service, or equivalent technical training
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in workforce accommodation camps in remote or regional areas
- Previous experience in the natural resources or construction sectors
- MAPAQ Food Handler and/or Food Manager Certification
- Proficiency in both French and English
