About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food items according to standardized recipes and chef specifications
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including kitchen equipment and storage areas
- Manage cooking times and portion sizes to ensure high-quality service during peak hours
- Operate and safely use various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and slicers
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
- Assist with food delivery storage and report any equipment or product issues to leadership
Requirements
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques including baking, grilling, sauté, and roasting
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written communication)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful, and changing environment
- Knowledge of food handling, safety, and restaurant guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary school graduate
- 1-2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen
- ServSafe or similar food safety certification
- Proficiency in Spanish
