About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment adhering to sanitation standards
- Assist with managing kitchen inventory and reporting shortages
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure accurate portion sizes and presentation of dishes
- Train others on the operation of kitchen equipment
- Manage cooking times to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Follow all safety and health regulations regarding food handling and storage
Requirements
- 3 years of food preparation experience
- Proficient written and verbal English communication skills
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques including baking, grilling, and sauté
- Ability to work under stressful circumstances and adapt to changes
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in wet, cold, or hot conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent
- ServSafe or similar food safety certification
- Spanish language skills
