Controls Technician

Responsibilities

• Identify equipment deficiencies and serve as an internal consultant for troubleshooting maintenance controls.
• Develop and implement solutions to eliminate controls deficiencies and improve equipment reliability.
• Modify programming and controls systems involving PLCs and PCs.
• Provide technical guidance on hardware, software, and electrical systems to improve safety and throughput.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering teams on equipment control improvements.
• Support shop floor users with PLC application access, troubleshooting, and training.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions to both maintenance and non-maintenance personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma (Associate or Technical degree preferred).
• 2+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Experience in machining components and using standard shop measurement tools.
• Familiarity with engineering assembly and component drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical problems and reading blueprints/schematics.
• Experience in control system design (PLC ladder logic, VFD, and servo control systems).
• Working knowledge of vision systems.
• Experience supporting plant floor systems and applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of DC torque fastening systems.
• Experience with Robotics technology and Universal Robots programming.
• Experience developing technical processes within a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) environment.
• Experience with Sinumerik 840D (NC Programming).
• Experience with Vision Systems such as Cognex or Keyence.
