Controls Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment including torque controllers (ATLAS COPCO), robotics, and programmable logic controllers
• Design electrical and electronic circuits
• Program PLCs, AC/DC drives, and Servo Drives
• Modify robot, PLC programs, and machine screen interfaces
• Perform equipment maintenance and repair equipment components
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, industrial standards, and Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Review and troubleshoot downtime issues to help reduce cycle times in collaboration with Production and Quality teams

Requirements

• Post-Secondary Education: Electro-Mechanical Technician, Automation and Robotics Diploma, or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity
• Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC and Fanuc Robot programming and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in troubleshooting torque controllers and AC/DC drives
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and solve problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Provincial Certification Red Seal 309A or 442A
