Controls Technician Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and scale a team of Controls Technicians and Shift Leads
• Develop and execute data-driven initiatives to minimize equipment downtime and optimize cycle times
• Serve as a strategic partner to Engineering and Operations teams for site projects and equipment commissioning
• Act as the primary point of escalation for critical machine downtime and root-cause analysis
• Design and implement comprehensive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) programs using CMMS
• Provide high-level guidance on complex diagnostics involving PLCs, SCADA, and robotics
• Champion a strong safety culture adhering to OSHA, PPE, and LOTO protocols

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in industrial controls, automation engineering, or manufacturing maintenance
• 4+ years of experience in a direct management or senior leadership capacity
• High-level proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• Experience with SCADA interfaces, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and industrial communication protocols
• Expert ability to read and interpret complex electrical, pneumatic, and P&ID drawings
• Advanced experience utilizing and configuring CMMS to track assets and analyze downtime
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and remain active on the factory floor

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Journeyman Electrician license
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or experience implementing TPM programs
• Advanced Fanuc/ABB robotics programming and integration certifications
• Experience leading facility-wide safety audits or developing EHS protocols
