Controls Technician

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary equipment expert and support for Manufacturing regarding downtime and nonconforming products
• Identify technical improvement opportunities and mentor Technical Support Team members
• Provide technical assistance with new equipment, process development, setup, debug, and training for automation and electronic controls
• Ensure all safety procedures adhere to industry standards including OSHA, NEC, ANSI, and IEEE
• Maintain proficiency in electrical systems up to 480 VAC

Requirements

• 2-year technical or electronics degree
• 3 years of industrial controls and electronics experience
• Strong technical experience with Allen Bradley controls and software (RSLogix, RSView)
• Experience with VFDs and Servo-based Motion control systems
• Troubleshooting skills in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery
• Ability to prioritize tasks with minimal direction
• Proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Vision system integration, programming, and maintenance
• Knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet, RS 232/485, CANBUS, DEVICENET, PROFIBUS)
• Understanding of tooling standards such as metal stamping and thermal forming
• Working knowledge of Fanuc robot programming and robotic work cell maintenance
• Experience with High Tonnage mechanical and hydraulic presses
