About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
- Perform point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers
- Conduct first-line diagnostics and maintenance of instrumentation and field sensors
- Configure and calibrate sensors, including AHU controllers and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Perform network configurations and communication testing between third-party devices and servers
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel drawings
- Supervise low voltage electrical contractors during installation and wiring
- Assist in root cause analysis during testing and commissioning phases
- Ensure all on-site personnel adhere to proper safety methodologies
- Work on-call and on a rotating schedule to respond to after-hours emergencies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to meet ITAR Compliance
- 1+ years of relevant industrial or HVAC controls experience (or an Associate’s degree/trade certification in a related field)
- Knowledge of industrial control systems, including meters, sensors, and relays
- Experience working with low voltage controls, wiring, and networking signals
- Ability to work non-standard hours, differing work rotations, and overtime as required
- Physical ability to walk jobsites, work at heights, and lift up to 49 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher
- Experience with communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, or MODBUS
- 5+ years of experience in controls, automation, or construction within a technical environment
- Experience in data centers or mission-critical environments
- Fundamental knowledge of network design and low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling
- 4+ years of military service
