Controls Systems Engineer/Systems Designer

Responsibilities

• Design and configure building control systems, including flow diagrams, sequences of operations, and electrical schematics
• Develop, test, and implement software programs required to operate control systems in accordance with project requirements
• Select hardware designs and ensure proper system integration using established standards
• Coordinate the preparation of drawings, equipment schedules, and submittal documentation
• Support system commissioning, including loading controllers, validating functionality, and troubleshooting issues
• Perform value engineering to optimize cost-effective solutions and ensure designs meet quality and safety standards
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Project Management teams to support project development and technical input

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a diploma in Engineering Technology, Building Systems, or a related discipline
• Experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, fire systems, or related low-voltage systems
• Knowledge of control theory and system integration protocols such as BACnet or LON
• Proficiency with system design tools, drafting software, and technical documentation
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems
• Ability to troubleshoot, commission, and validate complex systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in both English and French is considered a strong asset
