Controls Systems Designer II

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems, including fire, security, and low voltage sub-systems such as lighting and data networks.
• Create technical documentation including flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Develop, test, and troubleshoot complex software programs to ensure system functionality meets project requirements.
• Coordinate the selection, ordering, and tracking of materials and manage factory-mounting processes.
• Assist in the commissioning of system and network-level controllers and validate complete system functionality.
• Provide technical submittals and detailed information to customers, consultants, and field installation teams.
• Perform value engineering to provide cost-effective solutions while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
• Strong understanding of control theory, automatic temperature controls, and building automation systems.
• Experience integrating low voltage building sub-systems using industry protocols such as LON and BacNet.
• Advanced computer drafting skills and proficiency with related technical tools.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
