Controls Subject Matter Expert

Responsibilities

• Accountable for all Building Management System (BMS) changes and enhancements at the data center
• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions and troubleshoot hardware including controllers, relays, and actuators
• Review operating equipment data for efficiency improvements and monitor building systems for abnormal trends
• Manage controls vendors and provide QA/QC oversight for controls scope, including commissioning for new construction and retrofits
• Provide technical controls training and support to all Facility Operations staff
• Collaborate with global teams to implement global controls strategies and initiatives

Requirements

• 7+ years of controls experience in programming development, start up, and commissioning of complex systems
• Bachelor’s degree or trade certification in a related field (or 3+ years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree)
• Experience working in critical environments
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems
• Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and controls diagrams
• Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the data center industry
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience
• Proficiency with software programming languages such as Python, PHP, or SQL
• IT/Networking certification
• Experience with equipment field service engineering or representative roles
• Demonstrated ability to integrate and implement AI tools to optimize workflows
