About the role
Responsibilities
- Accountable for all Building Management System (BMS) changes and enhancements at the data center
- Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions and hardware including controllers, relays, and actuators
- Review operating equipment data for efficiency improvements and monitor building systems for abnormal trends
- Manage controls vendors and provide oversight for system configuration and component upgrades
- Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) oversight for controls scope and programming during commissioning
- Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and cross-functional teams on controls equipment and procedures
- Collaborate with global teams to implement global controls strategies and initiatives
Requirements
- 8+ years of controls experience in programming development, start-up, and commissioning of complex systems (central plants, air handling units, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or trade certification plus 4+ years of relevant industry experience
- Working knowledge of critical facility operations and procedure-based work
- Theoretical and practical understanding of control equipment design, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems in critical environments
- Experience interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) drawings and Sequence of Operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the data center industry
- Programmable Logic Control (PLC) experience
- Proficiency with software programming languages such as Python, PHP, or SQL
- Information Technology (IT) or Networking certification
- Experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact
