Controls Researcher

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve physics-based models of system dynamics for control and simulation
• Design, implement, and optimize guidance, trajectory tracking, and control algorithms (PID, nonlinear, data-driven)
• Define and evolve the overall control architecture and operational mode management
• Develop simulation environments to support controller validation and performance analysis
• Develop estimation, filtering, and data fusion algorithms such as Kalman Filters and observers
• Leverage sensor data and experimental measurements to improve models and control strategies
• Apply optimization methods to improve system performance and energy production
• Contribute to the validation and experimental testing of algorithms on prototypes
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams for system integration
• Participate in scientific collaborations with academic and research partners

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Control Systems, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mathematics
• 5 to 10 years of experience in advanced control engineering or autonomous systems
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python
• Strong knowledge in applied mathematics, dynamic systems modeling, and data fusion
• Fluency in English or French

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a startup or fast-growing deeptech environment
• Experience with drones, robotics, aerospace, or renewable energy systems
• Familiarity with CasADi or optimization frameworks
• Exposure to rapid control prototyping, embedded deployment, or HIL/RCP environments
