Controls Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, electrical systems, and physical structures
• Perform PLC, electrical, and electro-mechanical troubleshooting
• Access, troubleshoot, and program PLCs and instrumentation equipment
• Diagnose and repair pumps, boilers, steam, water, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid systems
• Use electrical testing equipment, meters, and diagnostic tools
• Perform light welding, grinding, and cutting
• Collaborate on continuous improvement (CI) and preventative maintenance procedures
• Comply with all safety, quality, GMP, and sanitation policies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-3 years of PLC and controls experience
• Experience with analog controls, sensors, instrumentation, and VFDs
• Ability to read schematics, electrical prints, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency with computer applications like Word and Excel
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights or in tight spaces
• Availability for shift work, including overtime, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• College-level software programming or pre-engineering education
• Mechatronics training or certification
• Vocational or accredited technical education
• Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration systems
• IT Networking and pathway experience
