About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver intelligent FMS/BMS control systems for mission-critical infrastructure from pre-sales through commissioning.
  • Create optimal FMS/BMS designs that comply with customer specifications, budgetary requirements, and local/federal building codes.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party suppliers to design control schemes utilizing PLCs and/or relays.
  • Manage contracted integration companies to provide detailed schematic, detail, and construction drawing narratives.
  • Generate bills of materials and modify standard assemblies to satisfy specific application requirements.
  • Work with commissioning teams to test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of systems.
  • Travel to sites (15–25%) for site reviews, engineering evaluations, audits, and start-up support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of Controls Engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FMS/BMS design concepts, installation, and usage.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (AutoDesk suite).
  • Familiarity with Ethernet protocols including Modbus, SNMP, and TCP/IP, as well as RS-485 interfaces.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret modular construction drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Experience with project management and leading multidisciplinary teams.
