Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement and support automated processes within the manufacturing facility to drive productivity, safety, and quality.
• Program, troubleshoot, and provide support for automated systems, including PLC-based controllers, networking solutions, and camera vision systems.
• Manage capital projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, timelines, and system implementation.
• Maintain equipment and implement changes in production processes to increase output capacity and reduce bottlenecks.
• Manage vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with health, safety, and project standards.
• Serve as a technical expert in controls and automation, providing mentorship and training to other team members.
• Create necessary documentation, including procedures, routings, and technical manuals.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Electrical or Electronics engineering (minimum).
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Expert experience in automation, PLCs, and HMIs, including troubleshooting in FBD and STL.
• Direct experience implementing and maintaining automation and packaging equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with maintenance and operations teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to maintain required safety documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens Simatic Manager or TIA Portal.
• Familiarity with VFDs and tension controls for material webs and mixing systems.
