Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems and equipment
• Provide day-to-day support to Production and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime
• Lead small electrical/controls projects, including upgrading obsolete controls to modern technology
• Perform system start-ups, operational checkouts, configuration, wiring, and calibration
• Maintain manufacturing plant controls systems at "World Class" standards and install software updates
• Troubleshoot systems using technical materials such as P&IDs, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
• Update and improve existing controls systems, including ladder logic, relay logic, and motor controls
• Operate with a "safety first" mindset at all times

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in process control and automation
• 5-10 years of experience programming/developing/configuring DeltaV, PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA software
• Proficiency with Allen Bradley 500 & SLC 500 and Control Logix
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming with ladder logic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work onsite in Pineville, NC (must live within commutable distance or be willing to relocate)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ignition Automation software
