Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities to ensure stable processes and meet target yield, throughput, and OEE
• Collaborate with Quality and cross-functional teams to establish robust control plans and in-process quality checks
• Lead equipment and line qualification during initial process ramp-up and drive continuous improvement
• Utilize root cause analysis and statistical tools to address manufacturing challenges
• Develop and maintain critical process documentation including Work Instructions and Operation Instructions
• Apply DOE and FMEA methodologies to enhance manufacturing processes
• Support the integration of automation and controls systems including PLC programming and HMI design
• Partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot electrical and control system issues

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering with a focus on control systems and automation
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens 1500 preferred), HMI development, and SCADA systems
• Familiarity with robotics, machine vision, and industrial communication protocols like Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or ProfiNet

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cell assembly processes
• Knowledge of laser welding processes
