About the role

Responsibilities

  • Enforce safe work practices as the highest priority on the factory floor
  • Provide controls engineering and electrical support for production systems
  • Investigate equipment problems and provide technical input for resolution
  • Manage controls modifications and continuous improvement of production processes
  • Provide technical support, direction, and training to skilled trades and support personnel
  • Lead maintenance and project planning activities
  • Work a rotating shift schedule that changes every 4 months

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Experience with VFDs, HMIs, and industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to work rotating/off shifts and support overtime as needed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive assembly or high-volume, highly automated manufacturing
  • Proficiency with FANUC robotics (programming and troubleshooting)
  • Deep experience with vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading equipment drawings
  • Experience working in a union environment
