About the role
Responsibilities
- Enforce safe work practices as the highest priority on the factory floor
- Provide controls engineering and electrical support for production systems
- Investigate equipment problems and provide technical input for resolution
- Manage controls modifications and continuous improvement of production processes
- Provide technical support, direction, and training to skilled trades and support personnel
- Lead maintenance and project planning activities
- Work a rotating shift schedule that changes every 4 months
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Experience with VFDs, HMIs, and industrial electrical systems
- Ability to work rotating/off shifts and support overtime as needed
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive assembly or high-volume, highly automated manufacturing
- Proficiency with FANUC robotics (programming and troubleshooting)
- Deep experience with vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading equipment drawings
- Experience working in a union environment
