About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and test template PLC programs for standard mechanical equipment including chiller skids, fan wall units, and CRAHs
- Write portable code across mixed PLC hardware including Siemens, Codesys, and virtualized PLCs
- Develop and tune sequences of operations (SOO) with controls and mechanical teams
- Install and wire PLCs and sensors in a lab environment to validate programs
- Debug programs against real IO and failure conditions on the bench to ensure seamless field commissioning
Requirements
- Experience writing and testing PLC programs for mechanical equipment (chillers, air handlers, pumps, etc.) on real hardware
- Proficiency in multiple PLC platforms such as Siemens, Codesys, or virtualized environments
- Ability to translate sequences of operations into working PLC code
- Hands-on experience wiring PLCs, IO, and sensors and troubleshooting physical layer faults
- Ability to write structured, reusable, and readable code
- Experience testing against failure modes and edge cases in a lab setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of data center mechanical systems (chiller plants, CRAH/CRAC, fan wall units)
- Proficiency in Structured Text and IEC 61131-3 languages
- Experience with BMS or SCADA integration over BACnet and Modbus
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or virtualized PLC testing
