Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions by designing control systems and creating project documentation and drawings
• Program PLCs (Rockwell) and HMIs (e.g., FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition)
• Interface with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project success
• Manage project deliverables to meet agreed budget, schedule, and scope
• Support site installation, checkout, and start-up of automated manufacturing processes
• Communicate plan progress and technical updates to project stakeholders

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of direct experience as a controls engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment (food, beverage, consumer health, etc.)
• Proficiency in control systems, troubleshooting, and designing automation controls (PLC, SCADA)
• Knowledge of industrial control panel design and fabrication (UL508A)
• Understanding of engineering documentation, including P&IDs and process flow diagrams
• Experience with field instrumentation, control system installation, and configuration
• Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to travel for site installation, start-up activities, and client meetings

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or a similar technical field
