About the role

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify Allen Bradley PLC programs for the fiber optic cable production plant
  • Design and implement new control systems projects
  • Manage the controls engineering scope for process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects
  • Implement robust and cost-effective automation and process machine control systems
  • Interface with external system integrators to deliver fully integrated process equipment systems
  • Participate in all project phases including design, fabrication, testing, installation, and production start-up support
  • Provide technical support to plant control systems as a 3rd Level Subject Matter Expert

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (with demonstrated controls aptitude)
  • Ability to debug and monitor PLC code using ladder logic
  • Experience with Allen Bradley controllers and associated hardware (PLC, I/O devices, motion control, and communication protocols)
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • 1 year of experience with electro-mechanical devices (e.g., servo motors, valves, and sensing devices)
  • Knowledge of ANSI, NFPA, and NEC applicable Electrical Codes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to reach first principles understanding
