About the role

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot process instrumentation and control systems used in utility generation and distribution
  • Ensure instrumentation and utilities control systems are properly specified, programmed, and calibrated to perform design functions
  • Troubleshoot analog/digital hardware on process control systems, including DCS, PLCs, and single loop analog controllers
  • Perform periodic assessments and inspections of field device calibration frequencies
  • Assist engineering in the development of functional specifications and design for process control systems
  • Support validation and project commissioning associated with instrumentation and controls
  • Document all tasks in compliance with approved procedures, standards, GxP, and quality requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with utilities equipment and systems (e.g., boilers, chillers, compressors, or distillation units)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and process control systems
  • Proficiency with CMMS, computers, tablets, and data gathering tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a controls technician with utilities equipment/systems
  • Associate’s degree in electronics technology or an equivalent field
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Experience with Maximo CMMS and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
