Controls Business Partner

Responsibilities

• Assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to improve control effectiveness through detailed documentation of assessments, procedures, and findings.
• Identify and investigate potential weaknesses within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
• Develop reports to communicate key findings, control weaknesses, and recommendations to senior management and control owners.
• Execute reviews to ensure the internal controls framework aligns with established policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Provide advisory and oversight support for the Technology Controls agenda, ensuring compliance with technology policies and standards.
• Manage issues and technology controls with a specific focus on Cyber and technology controls within the TCRS area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in technology controls assessment and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Strong background in information security, risk management, and technology controls.
• Hands-on experience with IT risk frameworks such as COBIT5, COSO, or NIST.
• Experience using industry-standard GRC tools and managing risk remediation.
• Working knowledge of Technology, Cyber, and resilience controls within a banking or financial services environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001, or PMP.
• Experience with resilience frameworks such as DORA.
• Certifications such as CBCP or ABCP.
• Experience reviewing audit findings and self-identified issues to align them with regulatory requirements.
