About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to improve control effectiveness through detailed documentation of assessments, procedures, and findings.
- Identify and investigate potential weaknesses within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
- Develop reports to communicate key findings, control weaknesses, and recommendations to senior management and control owners.
- Execute reviews to ensure the internal controls framework aligns with established policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Provide advisory and oversight support for the Technology Controls agenda, ensuring compliance with technology policies and standards.
- Manage issues and technology controls with a specific focus on Cyber and technology controls within the TCRS area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in technology controls assessment and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Strong background in information security, risk management, and technology controls.
- Hands-on experience with IT risk frameworks such as COBIT5, COSO, or NIST.
- Experience using industry-standard GRC tools and managing risk remediation.
- Working knowledge of Technology, Cyber, and resilience controls within a banking or financial services environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001, or PMP.
- Experience with resilience frameworks such as DORA.
- Certifications such as CBCP or ABCP.
- Experience reviewing audit findings and self-identified issues to align them with regulatory requirements.
