Controller/Sr. Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
• Manage multi-state payroll processing and reporting
• Ensure revenue recognition complies with GAAP and government contract standards (T&M, CPFF, FFP)
• Maintain compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements
• Prepare documentation for incurred cost submissions and provisional billing rates
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff across AP, AR, and procurement
• Serve as the system owner for the company’s Unanet ERP system
• Drive automation and process efficiencies across the accounting function

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• At least 5 years of experience in government contracting (GovCon)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA standards
• Experience managing accounting teams and leading month-end close cycles
• Hands-on experience with GovCon accounting systems such as Unanet or Deltek Costpoint

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CMA, or CGFM certification
• Experience supporting DCAA audits and preparing incurred cost submissions
• Prior experience in a small-to-mid-sized government contractor environment
