Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage the University's overall financial reporting and internal control structure in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit reports and serving as the primary liaison with independent auditors.
• Direct and provide leadership to Financial Accounting Services and other institutional business units.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive system of internal controls and procedures to safeguard University assets.
• Analyze financial data and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to internal and external constituents.
• Prepare regulatory financial reports, federal and state tax filings, and IRS Form 990.
• Assist in the development of budget parameters and the implementation of the University's debt policy to ensure bond covenant compliance.
• Provide guidance on the security and investment of the University’s assets and funds.

Requirements

• Master's degree required.
• CPA certification required.
• Extensive experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proven expertise in internal control management and financial reporting.
• Experience with audit oversight and managing external audit processes.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive information with confidentiality and tact.
