Controller

Responsibilities

• Own and manage GAAP-compliant month-end close
• Lead relationships with external auditors and manage annual financial audits
• Build and maintain internal controls and reporting frameworks for public-company requirements
• Identify and implement process improvements across the accounting function
• Oversee cost accounting for physical product manufacturing and defense contract compliance
• Manage multi-currency consolidation across international entities
• Hire, develop, and lead an accounting team

Requirements

• Active CPA certification
• 8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
• Experience in a startup, manufacturing, or hardware environment
• Public accounting background (Big 4 preferred)
• Cost accounting expertise for manufactured products
• Defense contracting accounting knowledge (FAR/DFARS compliance)
• IPO readiness and SEC-required documentation experience
• Experience with multi-currency consolidation and external audits

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling a company from growth stage through IPO
• Familiarity with government tax incentive programs (R&D credits, CHIPS Act)
• Knowledge of AI integration into accounting and finance functions
