General Matter enriches uranium. We are designing, building, and operating the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services, here in the US, to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel for AI, advanced manufacturing, and critical industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead all financial close and reporting activities in compliance with US GAAP, CAS, and applicable regulations
• Own the company’s CAS compliance framework and maintenance of Disclosure Statements
• Serve as primary liaison for external audits and reviews
• Design, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Oversee accounting systems and infrastructure, including ERP and integrated tools
• Support pricing, cost proposals, and contract compliance with accurate cost data and indirect rates
• Hire and lead the accounting team while partnering cross-functionally

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier)
• Demonstrated knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks
• Experience supporting external audits and preparing documentation
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must be onsite full-time in Los Angeles, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or engineering
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, business statistics, and complex modeling
• Experience in a manufacturing or technology environment
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
• Strong presentation and communication skills for executive management
