About the Company

fab2 is an early-stage hardware startup that designs and builds the hardware and software needed to make chips, including the fabs, tools, and components themselves. Founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller, the team is building the operational foundation to scale semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting operations for a complex hardware-intensive environment, including general ledger, AP, payroll, accruals, fixed assets, and inventory.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and reporting packages.
• Build and maintain scalable accounting policies, processes, and controls.
• Develop accounting infrastructure for manufacturing, including inventory accounting, WIP, COGS, and costing methodology.
• Evaluate, implement, and scale accounting systems and tools such as ERP and AP/AR automation.
• Own audit readiness, external audit coordination, treasury, and tax filings.
• Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Legal to translate requirements into business processes.
• Build and lead the accounting team over time.

Requirements

• CPA certification required
• Big 4 or equivalent national firm experience strongly preferred
• Experience leading or preparing for external audits
• Background in hardware, manufacturing, or capital equipment environments
• Deep expertise in inventory accounting, standard costing, WIP, COGS, and fixed asset accounting
• Proven ability to build accounting processes and controls in a growing company
• Hands-on experience leading ERP implementations
• Strong GAAP expertise (ASC 606, 330, 460, 842, 718, 730)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Semiconductor or deep-tech industry experience
• Experience as an early or foundational accounting hire at a startup
