Responsibilities

  • Own the general ledger and full month-end close process, driving accuracy and compressing timelines
  • Manage revenue recognition across memberships, transaction fees, and venue partnerships in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payment reconciliation for high-volume transactions
  • Deploy AI agents to automate reconciliation, journal entries, and close workflows
  • Lead annual audit preparation and serve as the primary contact for external auditors
  • Own tax compliance across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions
  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations and build internal controls/SOX-readiness
  • Conduct line-by-line reviews of budgets and actuals to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Implement AI-driven anomaly detection across spend and build real-time reporting for leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics
  • CPA required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years as a Controller or Assistant Controller
  • Direct experience in a high-growth consumer, marketplace, or payments environment
  • Deep command of GAAP and experience with complex revenue recognition
  • Proven track record preparing companies for institutional audits and late-stage fundraising
  • Experience deploying AI agents and automation in finance workflows
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting systems like NetSuite or QuickBooks Online

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Experience in hospitality, luxury consumer, or live events
  • Experience with Brex, Carta, Looker, Bill.com, or Justworks
