Controller

Responsibilities

• Design and build a standardized accounting infrastructure from the ground up, creating consistent processes, controls, and reporting structures
• Lead accounting integration efforts for newly acquired businesses, including opening balance sheet preparation and system migrations
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across a growing portfolio of operating companies
• Prepare and deliver consolidated financial statements, lender reporting packages, and executive dashboards
• Manage external accounting firms, auditors, tax advisors, and compliance partners
• Support tax compliance across multiple entity structures including LLCs and S-Corps

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Director of Accounting leadership role
• Significant experience in a multi-entity environment with consolidated financial reporting
• Experience supporting acquisitive business models and M&A
• Demonstrated success implementing or improving accounting systems and ERP migrations
• Ability to translate financial information into practical business insights

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in home/business services or industrials
• CPA designation
• Past exposure to highly acquisitive environments with multiple M&A events
• Experience transitioning accounting functions from external firms to internal organizations
• Experience with recurring lender reporting and covenant monitoring
