Control Technician 1-2

Responsibilities

• Develop software for programmable logic controllers (PLC's), touch screen operator interface devices (OI's), and Human Machine Interface (HMI) computer systems
• Provide on-site start-up and commissioning, as well as ongoing support of SCADA control systems
• Develop Operations and Maintenance (O&M) documentation and conduct training sessions
• Conduct inspections of control system installations
• Perform control system and field instrumentation testing, troubleshooting, and startup
• Perform regular maintenance and assist with repairs to existing client systems

Requirements

• Associates degree or technical certificate in electrical or mechanical engineering technology, industrial automation, or equivalent
• 0-2 years related controls technician experience
• 0-2 years in SCADA/control system experience
• Knowledge of PLC/operator interface software (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Opto22 preferred)
• Knowledge of SCADA HMI application software (Wonderware/AVEVA, FactoryTalk View, or Ignition preferred)
• Understanding of computer networks (LAN/WAN)
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and travel to construction or client sites weekly

Preferred Qualifications

• Municipal water/wastewater experience
• Experience with handheld digital meters
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D
• Basic programming skills in Python, C, C#, Java, or Rust
