Control Systems Analyst I-II

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and maintain critical SCADA/DCS platforms and process automation hardware
• Plan and deliver automation-related projects, including developing programming specifications and coordinating system testing
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance staff to ensure reliable plant performance and support system upgrades
• Troubleshoot and assess automated systems to identify areas for improved reliability or efficiency
• Maintain accurate configuration documentation and track performance metrics to guide future system enhancements
• Support daily operations by ensuring PLC programs and automated controls run smoothly

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electronics, computer information systems, engineering, or a closely related field
• At least three years of progressively responsible experience in the implementation and maintenance of process automation and controls in an industrial or wastewater/water treatment environment
• Proficiency in PLC programming and experience with SCADA/DCS platforms
• Valid California Class C driver's license and ability to maintain insurability
• Ability to respond to emergency situations and call-outs 24/7 as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a public agency
• ISA Certified Control Systems Professional or Technician
• CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation Grade III certification
• Experience with Rockwell Automation Control Logix, Factory Talk View, and PlantPAx
• Experience with Wonderware SCADA software and Modicon PLCs
• Knowledge of ICS cybersecurity and technologies used to secure ICS networks
