Control Room Operator I

Responsibilities

• Conduct continuous monitoring of system parameters to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory bodies like NERC
• Track alarms, log key metrics, and report discrepancies to senior operators or supervisors
• Record and update operational data accurately and generate reports on system status and incidents
• Relay critical information to shift supervisors and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Perform initial troubleshooting for alarms and escalate complex issues to engineering or field personnel
• Adhere to all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of control systems and SCADA systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedural steps
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Proficiency with computers and the ability to manage multiple monitors simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or control systems
• Previous experience in an industrial control room setting
• Industry-relevant certifications
