Control Room Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate plant functions from the control room
• Manage chip feed, fuel feed, furnace, dryer, sizing, and pellet press systems
• Monitor indicator screens, signal lights, production rates, and spark detection equipment
• Adjust production line processes by translating signals into operational values
• Maintain working schedules, equipment temperature, and safety standards
• Resolve equipment malfunctions and failures using technical skills
• Communicate with team members via radio and respond to equipment alarms

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance procedures
• Proficiency with basic hand tools
• Basic computer and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to learn HMI touch screen operation
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends, nights, or rotating schedules
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in wood products, furnace/dryer operations, or manufacturing
• Prior experience working in a Control Room
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
