About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate plant functions from the control room
- Manage chip feed, fuel feed, furnace, dryer, sizing, and pellet press systems
- Monitor indicator screens, signal lights, production rates, and spark detection equipment
- Adjust production line processes by translating signals into operational values
- Resolve equipment malfunctions and failures using technical skills
- Communicate with team members via radio and respond to equipment alarms
- Perform flow, pressure, performance, and meter calculations
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance procedures
- Proficiency with basic hand tools
- Basic computer and math skills
- Ability to learn HMI touch screen operation
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends, nights, or rotating schedules
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in wood products, furnace/dryer operations, or manufacturing
- Prior experience working in a Control Room
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
