Control Room Operator

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination of all on-shift operations to ensure safe plant equipment operation
• Use Distributive Control System (DCS) computers to monitor parameters and adjust equipment
• Ensure strict adherence to local, State, and Federal regulations and internal procedures
• Maintain plant security and handle bulk chemicals and waste materials
• Perform chemical analysis on steam, cooling, and condensate systems
• Utilize RedTag PRO for professional Lockout Tagout (LOTO) issuance
• Resolve complex technical issues and prioritize responsibilities for functional areas
• Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to enhance efficiency
• Provide advanced on-the-job training and mentorship to team members

Requirements

• 10+ years of directly related experience in a power plant environment
• Deep understanding of health and safety regulations regarding hazardous energy and chemicals
• Experience using test equipment, calibration appliances, and machinery control systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics
• Proficiency in PC computers, Microsoft Office, and specialized plant control software
• Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Authorization to work in the USA

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree from a technical or vocational school
• Relevant military service
• Advanced certifications or licensures relevant to power plant operations
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as manlifts and forklifts
