Control Room Desk Operator

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and control power generation systems, including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, and auxiliary electrical HV operations.
• Coordinate dispatch instructions from the Load Dispatch Centre (LDC) and adjust generation levels to meet PPA requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of operational parameters, performance metrics, and generation data.
• Prepare reports regarding plant performance, operational incidents, and regulatory compliance.
• Support the Shift Charge Engineer with isolations and Permit to Work (PTW) preparation.
• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team and follow all established safety protocols.
• Identify and diagnose operational issues to implement corrective actions and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure plant reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of total professional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience as a CCR Operator in the O&M of Combined Cycle Power Plants.
• Proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens GT based CCGT systems.
• Knowledge of Arabic.
