About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of control frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with new and existing products.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments in support of Pensions product development and change initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance on control processes and risk management practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, risk, audit, and technology.
  • Review and analyze key metrics to inform the health of the operational risk and control environment.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in operational risk management within product management, controls, compliance, audit, or wealth management.
  • Proven ability to identify risks and develop effective control mechanisms.
  • Deep familiarity with personal and self-invested pensions products.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA requirements, including Pensions & ISA regulations, CASS, and Consumer Duty.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Ability to translate business process risks into risk and control heatmaps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Alteryx, or CORE.
  • Fluency in another European language.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience leading small teams or coaching junior team members.
