Control & Instrumentation (C&I) - Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyse and decompose requirements from Safety, Functional, and HMI specifications
• Develop detailed requirements for data acquisition, control logic, and communication interfaces
• Maintain end-to-end traceability between system requirements and vendor deliverables
• Produce detailed design documentation including functional block diagrams and logical architectures
• Define system operating modes, fail-safe behaviours, and redundancy concepts
• Develop technical specifications for software and hardware development teams
• Participate in technical reviews, hazard assessments, and design verification
• Support integration activities and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
• Ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards, functional safety, and cybersecurity requirements

Requirements

• Strong experience in Control & Instrumentation systems design within safety-critical industries
• Experience in functional specification and system-level design
• Solid understanding of control systems and control theory
• Knowledge of system lifecycle activities including V&V and commissioning
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61513, or IEC 61226
• Experience with requirements management tools like IBM DOORS or Polarion
• Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Capella
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience
• Electrical Engineering experience

• Experience working on large infrastructure projects with high level safety requirements
