Contracts Team Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Contracts department, managing day-to-day operations and providing a clear vision for the team
• Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and management of all contractual commitments from project acquisition to closure
• Mentor and coach team members to encourage professional development and a team-player mentality
• Identify contractual risks and propose effective mitigation strategies
• Negotiate high-value, complex proposals and contracts, including amendments and various legal documents such as NDAs, License Agreements, and MoUs
• Manage UK MOD contracting, including single-source contracts and implementing Single Source Contracting Regulations

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience within the contractual field
• Proven experience leading and working within a team, including mentoring and developing colleagues
• In-depth knowledge of contract principles, drafting, and interpretation
• Extensive experience managing high-value and complex contracts for both UK and export markets
• Direct experience with UK MOD contracting and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree-level education
• Experience within the space industry, specifically with ESA or UKSA funding (CEOI, NSIP)
• Experience in US Department of Defense contracting
