Contract Strategist

Responsibilities

• Develop frameworks for crafting and negotiating proposals and contracting initiatives in accordance with regulatory frameworks and business objectives
• Draft proposals and negotiate contracts to balance risk mitigation, delivery speed, and favorable pricing
• Partner with Business Development and Capture teams to craft proposals from both business and legal perspectives
• Provide ongoing support throughout the acquisition and execution lifecycle to mitigate risks and ensure performance obligations are met
• Conduct market analysis to support strategic pricing decisions and enhance competitive positioning
• Develop training programs to ensure internal teams understand and adhere to contracting and pricing strategies

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in supporting government contracting
• Strong working knowledge of FAR and DFARS, including the ability to identify, interpret, and escalate clause-level risk
• Experience reviewing solicitations, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and NDAs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate requirements for non-legal stakeholders
• High attention to detail and strong ownership of deadlines and contract deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience drafting USG and commercial proposals
• Expertise in working with the US government on a wide array of contracting issues
• Ability to advise on commercial item/service contracting, SaaS, data rights, IP, and cybersecurity
• Experience in dual-use, defense, robotics, industrial technology, or technical services contracting
• Familiarity with IDIQs, BPAs, task orders, OTAs, and SBIR/STTR
• Experience building scalable contracting templates, clause playbooks, or internal workflows
