Contract Engineer

Responsibilities

• Administer pre- and post-contract activities for roads and infrastructure projects, including contract review and implementation.
• Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, including notices, claims, variations, and EOT submissions.
• Evaluate and support the negotiation of contractor and consultant variations, claims, and change orders.
• Monitor contract performance, commercial risks, and key obligations such as bonds, insurances, and warranties.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing tender documents, scopes of work, and procurement packages.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, and cost control teams to validate data for claims substantiation and dispute avoidance.
• Provide contractual and commercial advice to project teams regarding risk allocation and compliance.
• Maintain up-to-date correspondence logs, internal registers, and tracking tools to ensure traceability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven knowledge of both pre- and post-contract administration.
• Strong experience specifically within roads and infrastructure projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate logically to management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a consultancy environment.
