About the role

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate logistical aspects of commodity contract administration by coordinating with the trading desk and third-party service providers
  • Arrange and track daily truck and rail shipments of refined metals between producers, storage facilities, ports, and consumers
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inventory of ocean, rail, and truck shipments and communicate status to the desk and customers
  • Plan and execute logistics solutions to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and optimal customer service, including freight rate negotiations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with logistics service providers to ensure capacity meets contractual obligations
  • Maintain internal records including inventory on hand, goods in transit, and various bearer documents
  • Perform periodic reconciliation of inventory records for reporting to traders, credit, insurance, and treasury departments
  • Manage timely releases, invoicing, and document execution to counterparties and coordinate payments with the treasury department
  • Liaise with internal departments including trading, treasury, risk, credit, accounting, and IT

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in the commodities industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel and Word capabilities
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Stamford, CT, 5 days a week
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as required
