Continuous Improvement Technician

Responsibilities

• Spend significant time on the shop floor auditing processes, observing operators, and conducting time studies
• Facilitate Kaizen events to redesign workstations, enhance machine changeover times, and optimize material flow
• Maintain visual management systems including production boards, shadow boards, and Kanban card systems
• Draft and update comprehensive work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Analyze and optimize internal supply chain logistics using tugger, forklift, and water-spider routes
• Collaborate with EHS to redesign assembly cells and tooling layouts to improve ergonomics and reduce injury risk
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to align process improvements with production schedules
• Conduct regular process audits to ensure continuous improvement gains are maintained

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2–5 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or engineering drawings
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
• Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience in project management or driving organizational change
• Experience with Minitab
